Adaptec:

	1520/1522	16 bit non-busmastering
	1540/1542	16 bit bus-mastering
	1740/1742	16 bit eisa

The letter is the "version" number (ie. 1540A, 1540B, 1540C)

The "2" at the end means that is has a floppy controller
There is also a new 2700 or 2800 series which is VLB.

The 1542C is the most recent of the non VLB cards, which does
all software configurable jumpers. People I know who know the cards
suggest going with the B for dependability, the C for flexibility.

The 1520 series is your choice for cheap cards (around $80) but
will only support up to 1Gig of disk space.
