I'd be interested to know what kind of performance >you've had and your level of satisfaction with it. I have a FreeBSD 1.0.2 system here with a BT-747S and a BT-742A in it. They are both working fine. The 747 is signficantly faster than the 742 on raw reads. With iozone, I don't see much difference though. The 747 ``officially'' supports Fast SCSI 2, whereas with the 742 BusLogic advises against it (even though it can be set to FAST) unless you have a very short cable and a low noise environment. On my system the 742 would not reliably run FAST with my DEC DSP-3105s. >(Are BusLogic and >BusTek two different companies, or what's the deal?) It is the same company. BusTek changed their name to BusLogic awhile back. -- Bob Willcox ...!{rutgers|ames}!cs.utexas.edu!uudell!obiwan!bob Phone: 512 258-4224 (home) 512 838-3914 (work)
