This disc is in ISO9660 format with Rock Ridge extensions. Some files can be read OK, and the directories can be listed just fine, but other files (like those in the X11R5/mit directory) return I/O error. I dimly recall some talk a while back about such stuff, but I don't remember much about it. [Something about inode numbers out of range?] Another problem I ran into was with the stock binary 0.9 generic kernel not recognizing an SMC EtherCard Elite Ultra card (configured with the standard ed0 settings). I am planning to try a newer kernel (Dec-20 or later) on the system with the Ultra card to see if the newer driver knows about the newer card. Another of my little projects is to upgrade my X server and clients to 2.0 (I am still running 1.3 binaries) using the new shared library facility. It sure would be nice to have any tips or pointers from someone who had done this job before. Any information on any of my BSD problems will be most graciously appreciated. -- -- Gene
