I have poured over the FAQ and similar articles, but haven't found any satisfactory answers yet. I you can answer either question, please mail me: mills@engin.swarthmore.edu. I will summarize and repost. Thanks. 1.) Will running disklabel on a disk containing only MS-DOS fry the DOS partition? If so, how can I use PCFS to mount my DOS disk. Here's my set: wd0 is the MS-DOS disk, wd1 is FreeBSD 1.0, I am using BootEasy on wd0 to allow me to boot from either drive. wd0 -- Offset 36, size 411660 b/sec 512, sec/trk 36, trk/cyl 12, sec/cyl 432, cyl 954 2.) How can I access COM 3 and COM 4. I'd like to be able to access my internal modem. I currenly have COM 1 and COM 2 setup as SIO lines and they work fine. I have tried masses of different configurations but nothing seems to work. IRQ PORT COM 1 4 03F8 COM 2 3 02F8 COM 3 4 03E8 COM 4 3 02E8 The main problem occurs since COM 3 has the same IRQ as COM 1, and COM 4 as COM 2...when the system boots, it gets confused. Thanks for any help. -Pat mills@engin.swarthmore.edu
