Communications Corp Lines: 18 Message-ID: <a09878.759206498@giant> NNTP-Posting-Host: giant.rsoft.bc.ca I recently tried to use tip to dial out to a BBS, but I got some strange behaviour. According to the status lights, it initalised the modem and sent it the dialing string. I then heard the modem pick up the line and touch-tone dial the first digit and then stop. (It's a touch-tone line, so this is fine.) Then it just sits there. Anybody know what's up here? Also, is there a way to get tip to just connect to the serial line directly, without sending anything to the modem, so I can dial the modem myself? cjs -- Curt Sampson a09878@giant.rsoft.bc.ca Fluor Daniel 604 691 5458 1444 Alberni Street Vanouver, B.C., V6G 2Z4 "Do not expect fairings."
