I recently tried to login on my FreeBSD 1.0 system as root (from the console), but got a "root login refused on this terminal" error. This strikes me as a more than minor inconvenience. i.e. What if there were no other users (besides root) set up, and the user tried to boot a syscons kernel. How do you get around this?
