Login as 'root' and then hit <enter> when it asks for a password.  After that, 
you'll have to either use the 'useradd' utility to make yourself an alternative 
account or edit the 'passwd' or 'passwd-' files in /etc .  BTW, you might want to 
use pico instead of vi as it's much friendlier.
