NOTE: There is a new "unified" version of the BOOTP server that is in
(unnannounced) alpha/beta test. It implements a lot more of the BOOTP
extensions than the CMU server (but is based on the same code).

The latest version needs a few minor tweaks to work under *BSD*. I
was working on it, but haven't had a chance to finish the patches.
It would be good if we got some people to make sure the new code runs
under all of the BSDs. (I can test NetBSD-0.9 and BSD/386.) If anyone
would like to help with testing, just drop me a note. (I'm not the
coordinator for the new release, but I've been doing some the BSD
& SLIP support work.)

I can also provide patches to the SLIP driver that add support for BOOTP
on SLIP connections. I have direct patches for cslip-2.7 (SunOS 4.X),
NetBSD-0.9, and BSD/386 1.0. Ports to close relatives should be trivial.
