No need.

Of course.  Backwards compatability has always been a goal, and anytime
that isn't possible an upgrade path will be provided.

Same 'ol, same 'ol.  You can even upgrade to FreeBSD using a set of
scripts I wrote for that very purpose which don't requite a
re-install.  There on FreeBSD.cdrom.com in the tools/upgrade directory.
