Date: 31 Jan 1994 13:32:24 GMT Organization: University of Natal (Durban), South Africa Lines: 22 Message-ID: <2ij198$ckg@owl.und.ac.za> NNTP-Posting-Host: shrike.und.ac.za X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL0] We have been running NetBSD here for nearly a year - first 0.8, then 0.9. However, 0.9 has been giving us problems, and with the new academic year about to start, we are going to re-install everything from scratch. The options now are to go for NetBSD-current (in which the kernel problems have been corrected), NetBSD-0.9 with a repaired kernel, or make a switch over to FreeBSD. NetBSD is what we favour, for its long-term stability, but if we are going to switch to FreeBSD, now is the time. The machine needs to be as stable as possible. Opinions please ? - Simon -- +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | o \ o / _ o __| \ / |__ o _ \ o / o | | /|\ | /\ ___\o \o | o/ o/___ /\ | /|\ | | / \ / \ | \ /) | ( \ /o\ / ) | (\ / | / \ / \ | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Simon Bernstein Simonfish on IRC bernstei@shrike.und.ac.za | | University of Natal, Durban, South Africa | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
