I've been having some problems with 386BSD 0.1 this weekend, and I was
wondering if anyone who may be reading this has done this so far.

I have been trying to connect my 9600 baud modem to my BSD system for a couple
of days now. I can get it to call out and work fine via the copy of tip located
on the distribution disk (I haven't bothered getting the one in the binaries
configured). I _AM_ however having problems getting it configured to call in.
The best I seem to be able to do is get it to work on E-7-1, and ONLY at
the baud rate I initialize the port at (hence, if I set it up at 9600, and
call at 2400 or 1200, forget it, even with "ab" set in gettytab). I'm trying
to get it to work in N-8-1. However, when I set "np" in gettytab, I get
the opening message and login prompt fine in 8 bits. However, when it comes
time for the Password: prompt, and anything that comes after that, I get
misc letters and garbage, as if certain characters are getting munched. I
also tried connecting a terminal right to the box, and get the same thing.
The UARTs are 16650s, configured with 8 chars each way of buffering, so
data loss shouldn't be a problem
Anyhow, if anyone has done this, could you please send me any required
changes from a "stock" system? Thanx.

Also, I've squeezed the 386BSD source on to my drive, and am trying to
add the printer to the BSD kernal (lpt1). I'm sure its a fairly easy
operation, I just cant find it. :)

Thirdly, Has anyone come up with any drivers/applications for either
an Irwin QIC-40 tape drive (I could REALLY use it), sound blaster cards,
Panasonic CD Roms, or adding a second drive (it'd be nice if they work, too)

Thankx for your time and bandwidth.
