Yes, I know they aren't supported, but i've got one and I want to use it
for more than just plain text!

I've got hold of the ds3 program for linux and done some extensive reworking
to get it to work on NetBSD.

Since I don't know how to access IO ports from a user program, I ended
up turning ds3 into a device driver which responds to ioctl's from a
user program.

It all appears to work, when you run it, the screen blanks and then comes
back after about half a second, all my diagnostic messages say everying
is ok.

Now,

When I try to fire up XF86_S3 it goes through the probing stage and
prints out the list of supported cards, mouse, font path etc and then
just exits with absolutely no errors at all. (It doesn't call the ds3
program). The screen doesn't flicker or anything!

Is this something I'm doing wrong? Xconfig file problems?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lee.
