Message-ID: <151cs5INN6qs@seven-up.East.Sun.COM> Date: 27 Jul 92 17:47:49 GMT Sender: geoff@east.sun.com Organization: SunSelect Lines: 16 NNTP-Posting-Host: tyger.east.sun.com In an earlier posting, someone noted that USL/AT&T had suggested that BSDI *must* have made improper use of USL sources because they were able to develop the BSDI kernel so quickly. Since most of the relevant kernel mechanisms are described in great detail in "The Design and Implementation of the 4.3BSD UNIX Operating System" (Leffler et al, Addison-Wesley, 1989/1990), this complaint would seem preposterous... unless, perhaps, USL/AT&T believe that the book describes "UNPUBLISHED PROPRIETARY SOURCE CODE OF AT&T". So, have they complained about the book? Any of the authors care to comment?
