Currently, I have colorado tape drive : collecting dust and 300 MBs of binaries/sources. Not a pleasant scenario! Well, I have a Colorado tape drive too, and what I've done over the years on MINIX, Linux, and 386BSD has been to use mtools to copy the files I want backed up *to* a DOS partition, then I boot up DOS and use CMS' tape utility to put them on tape. To restore, reverse the process. Of course, this requires a nontrivial amount of free space on the DOS partition, but it's better than nothing. (ps - I'm also looking into writing a QIC-40 driver... don't know how I'll do, but we'll see....) -- Jim Paradis (paradis@tallis.enet.dec.com) Working for DEC, speaking for myself.
