You should use the dos fdisk to setup your partition, with a primary for dos
and an extended for FreeBSD.  Then use 'pfdisk' to change the type of the
extended partition as described in the pfdisk docs.  When you run the FreeBSD
install be careful to specify the disk geometry matching that used by DOS
(and displayed by the dos fdisk).  I did this, and it works fine.
