I have just finished installation of NetBSD-0.9 and XFree86-2.0 on
my Gateway 2000 DX-66V. Here is the basic configuration info:

	486DX-66 processor
	16 mByte ram
	Buslogic 445S VLB scsi controller
	Micropolis 2177
	Logitech MouseMan (connected to com1)
USR Sportster 14.4 internal (configured as com0)
	Orchid F1280 ISA graphics card

I could rattle on with some very positive comments of this system
relative to my Sun IPC at work, but there are some stability problems
that reduce the overall utility of the system relative to the Sun :-(

Here is a short list of the worst problems:

	1. com0 occasionally hangs kermit/tip in a state that kill -9
will not remove them (process state SE+).

	2. XFree-86 will sometimes botch the real state of the control
key such that any key typed results in a control character,
until the control kit is hit and released. In other words,
the key behaves like caps lock, but for control chars.

	3. Console session always hangs when exiting XFree86. I start
the server using "startx", and after exiting XFree, the machine
is still up and the keyboard responding, but startx never seems
to exit such that I get a prompt back from csh.

	4. XFree86 seems to ignore the middle button on the Logitech.
I am using the Mouseman keyword with "/dev/tty01" @ 1200 baud
	    in Xconfig.

If anyone could should some light on how to resolve these problems, I would
really appreciate it. Tnx -- Rick Spanbauer, State U of NY/Stony Brook
