mcd has the same ioctl interface as the SCSI CD-ROMs, so it should be 
compatible WRT this. xcdplayer IMK, however, has the CD device
hard coded in (pointing to the SCSI name), so you might have to create
a proper link from /dev/mcd0 to the expected name.
Brian Moore, who wrote that port, however told me about speed problems
of the mcd (driver) to keep up with the counter position.
Probably this is a part that could be improved in the driver.
