I am interested in setting up a SLIP connection using NetBSD 0.9 to my
local dialin. Getting the dialin set up for SLIP is easy, I tell it to start
a SLIP connection, after connecting via com0, then it (the dialin) sends me a
message gicing me my IP. From there I know I need to use the slattach command
somehow to get it set up. With all of this in mind, and the fact that I am
completely clueless as to how to actually set up this link, HELP. :)
I have read all the man files I think are appropriate, and am still clueless as
to how to actually set the link up. Like hosts, gateways, remote address
servers, hostname.* files, etc. Not a clue what I need to do. If there is a
documentation file on this process somewhere that I don't know about, please
direct me to where I can get it via FTP. :) If there isn't, I would greatly
appreciate any help via e-mail that anyone would like to offer.
Also, I would rather use a PPP connection (I do so in DOS via ka9q), but it
seemed easier to start with SLIP since it is built in to NetBSD. Any
information on PPP for NetBSD owuld be welcome too.
