You need to use the number of heads, cylinders and sectors that DOS uses for the FreeBSD install. (Get it from the BIOS table or use pfdisk in the tools/dos_tools directory on the archive site) to determine the translated disk parameters and MAKE sure that the install is using those numbers. By default it uses the non-translated parameters in order to maximize disk performance, but this doesn't work with other operating systems who use translated parameters. > I noticed that the >floppy drive light was still on when I was asked to reboot. Is there a way I can manually make the hard drive >bootable? Would updating from 1.0 to 1.0.2 help? Re-install using the translated parameters. Also, you'll want to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.0.2 in order to upgrade to the 1.1 release out RSN.
