 There was nothing changed from the GNU distribution except:

   1) The configure changes you note
   2) Rework the makefiles to use the standard FreeBSD way of
       building

 I have been successfully using the FreeBSD 1.0.2 supplied Taylor-UUCP
 since its inception; although I have noted problems with sio.

 If you have a second, could you compare the GNU sources with the 1.0.2
 sources to ensure no finger glitches got in when converting to FreeBSD
 make setup...
