I think you will need to install new boot-blocks before you install
a new kernel (to enable booting larger kernels) I'd try that from
a floppy first, after that a new kernel should work fine, I'd then
get binaries from sun-lamp.berkeley.edu pub/NetBSD/arch/i386 I think
or from ftp.iastate.edu or wipux2.wifo.uni-mannheim.de, From installing
the new binaries I would then go for supping the source from one of the
above and after that I would make my own binaries and install.
All in all about 6 hours of work, depending on how fast your
ftp/sup link is.

Cheers
