Has anybody been able to get mail to work in NetBSD?

I'm tring to get the most trivial mail (user to user on the same host) to work
and the messages just disappear and never arrive. If I mispell the destination addressee the
message returns to my dead.letter box OK.

I have examined every single sendmail parameter and can find nothing
obviously wrong. I tried both the UUCP and TCP sendmail.cf files that
came with NetBSD 0.9.

Any ideas where I should look next?

Thanks,
