Start nvi.1.03 with no filename arg in an xterm ( i do it under sunos4.1.3 with X11R5 ) Stretch the x term to be longer in height by a few lines worth of text nvi then repaints the screen. it looks like it does not repaint the whole screen because there are not extra tildes at the bottom of the screen for the extra lines. Then hit anything (control L will do). At this point, nvi then exits after getting a MOVE() error in svi_line.c/99 This will happen when you load a file too.. do some editing, stretch the window, and then control L. poof... the edits don't get written out either. yuck. This of course is how i first found the problem ;-) . anybody seen this problem with nvi ?? This seems like it would be a common sequence for someone to do and it produces rather dire results. Is there some chance i did not build nvi correctly?? i just used the basic PORT/sunos.4.1.3 directory using make CC=gcc -mike hoegeman, mh@wx.gtegsc.com -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mike Hoegeman email: mh@wx.gtegsc.com tel: (818)706-4145 GTE Weather Systems Group 31717 La Tienda Dr, Westlake Village CA. 91359
