Is the Wangtek supposed to be : able to read 60 MB tapes? (It's a Wangtek 5525 ES) : When I tried erasing a tape, it would spin for a minute or two and : return with no error. However when I then try to write something on the : tape from MSDOS, it hangs. When I try to write something on it from : NetBSD it gives an input/output error on /dev/rst0. : : : : Marc van Kempen Is the Wangtek 5525 ES a larger format drive like 150 MB or 250 MB? Sometimes the larger format drives only allow reading from the smaller 60 MB tapes. I am not familiar with SCSI tape drives but it might also be that you have to give it a scsi command or use an altenate device minor num to configure it to be able to write to the 60 MB tapes. There might also be a jumper on the drive. Not having proper docs on used equiptment that you pick up rather sucks doesn't it. :) I know, I've been there. Steve
