Message-ID: <CLv1sw.5As@world.std.com> Organization: The World Public Access UNIX, Brookline, MA Date: Sun, 27 Feb 1994 02:05:19 GMT Lines: 17 Quick question for you kernel wizards out there. I'm running FreeBSD 1.0, and trying to configure my com ports to be bidirectional (so that I can operate several modems in both dial in and dial out modes at the same time), and it appears that the stock kernel does not allow bi-directional com ports (namely because comcontrol barfs with an error about improper ioctl functions for this device, and that when I try to use one of my call-out devices, it claims the device isn't configured). If I'm wrong, could someone tell me how to get comcontrol to work? And, if I'm correct that bidirectional com ports is NOT the standard, could someone tell me where I can get the stock kernel with it compiled in (or someone be nice enough to compile it for me? :) )... I'd appreciate it, as I'm down to near 0 free drive space, and it'll be at least two weeks before I can get a spare drive to plug in. Thankx, Brian
