If you're getting Non-maskable interrupts from using your SCSI
controller, something is very much not right with your motherboard.
Have you tried calling Gateway and asking them how to set everything
for "normal" operation?  It is conceivable that you have a bad
controller or motherboard if you still have NMI problems with
everything in default configurations.

The BusLogic cards should all work with *BSD just fine in all their
default configurations (interrupt 11 is most common).

I don't use FreeBSD, but I know many people are using BusLogic cards
with no problems under FreeBSD.  And my BusLogic bt747s is working
great under NetBSD-current.
