If it's the 2xxx series of boards, it will probably not ever be support by any of the free operating system, though I've heard rumors of someone working on it. The problem with the work in progress is that Adaptec can change their chip internally which would break any existing drivers which use the low-level code, and you have to sign a NDA for the high-level code.
