In the BETA announcement, it was *strongly suggested* that if you want to be a BETA tester you *MUST* be on the mailing lists in order to now about possible bugs in the distribution. >First I installed the binary distribution. What can I do to get my man >pages >in 1.1.BETA? What have I done wrong? You didn't get on the mailing lists, where the fix to this was discussed. The bug was in the cpio binary on the initial floppy boot, not the distribution itself. Cpio did not create some directories with the correct permissions, most notably: /usr/lib /usr/lib, /usr/libexec /usr/share /usr/share/misc Change the permissions on all those directories to 755 and all will be well. ie: # chmod 755 /usr/lib /usr/lib, /usr/libexec /usr/share /usr/share/misc You *HAVE* to get on the mailing lists for BETA testing software.
