First try was on a 40mb partition, with the patched dist.fs from agate.berkley.edu . The system part came up after the INSTALL reboot, but only as far as printing the ethernet device info, then it crashed with some vm_bla... error, it was too fast for me to read. I then installed on the whole disk, and it reboots ok without crashing. Anybody know why this is so and how to fix it, as I will have to put DOS back on the whole machine soon if I can't reserve 40mb for 386BSD alone ? Apart from that ftp worked O.K for the installation, B.I.N.D works, NFS works except that if the server exports database specifies an access list. Then NFS gives a "Mount RPC error on /x/x@blah.dec.com Permission denied". Remove the access list then all is O.K. NFS doesn't seem to be able to mount UCX remote file systems served by VAXes running VMS. Many thanks for all the fun regards Francis J. Hitchens.
