I'm fighting with a ST4384E ESDI drive under netbsd 0.9
basically I'm getting a crash when the OS picks up a hard write error.
wd0g: hard error writing fsbn 117980 of 117968-117983
(wd0 bn 218960; cn 429; tn 5; sn 0)

From the drives bad track log: 429; 5; 7906; 1 (cn;tn;bcai;bl)
I DID mark this track as bad in the WD1007A-AH2 bios (c800:5) setup,
and I don't understand why its getting touched at all.

If I try to nuke it following the instructions for badsect, I get
% badsect BAD 117980
/dev/wd0g: Device busy
