I have FreeBSD 1.0.2(I think) and my soundblaster reports in as
SoundBlaster Pro 3.1

Has anyone gotten the thing to record in Stereo?

The FAQ says "

Most features of the SB family of cards are supported save some
stereo portions of the SBPro cards.
"

But, the Linux version doesn't seem to have any trouble with SBP.
