I can atest to this. I got tired of losing ext2 partitions under linux and e2fsck not being able to recover them. It got really annoying when it turned out to be /. Hell, It got to where I could even repeat it on a regular basis. ufs seems to be very resilent under *BSD; I've had people even kill the power. It may take 5 reboots (that's an extreme case), but / lives! I've never lost yet :-) One thing *BSD doesn't have yet is shared libs, but current in both has it, and the coming-soon-to-a-ftp-site-near-you release of FreeBSD also has it. It will probbaly be only a matter of time before I upgrade. However with my wimpy 329Mb IDE, I need to be very sure of what I do... All I gotta say is I'm much happier now and thanks ken, I needed that slap in the face :-) -- Ack! Creek, not creek; Pop not soda; Car needs washed...
