In other words, I can't see any characters coming in, and I really can't tell if I am connected at all. I set up my modem correctly, and I used the sample startup script that came with the package (I haven't added any of my own stuff to it). Am I missing a certain command or something that I should have typed, or some option that should be in the startup script? I don't know if it's relevant to the problem or not, but I have a DSI 9600/144+ softmodem. This means that since the drivers for it are only written in DOS, I have to first boot up in DOS, and then warm-boot to FreeBSD, which should still leave the modem-info intact on the chip. Are there any special things that I should try because I am using a softmodem? I think that the main problem is that I don't have my startup script configured correctly, but since I am kind of a neophyte to communications within FreeBSD, I'm not fully knowledgable of all the options that must be set from the command line, and the startup script for Seyon. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ---> Mark Steven de Sagun Tamola ---> buckwild@u.washington.edu
