I also had a problem with a 3c503 card doing a time out. On both
the ifconfig command and when I tried to ftp. The problem has not
been very well resolved. It was a conflict with a VGA adaptor card.
I had a different conflict with a second VGA card -- on power up the
message was
unable to clear shared memory d8001.
Part of what I wanted to do was X. My "solution" was to put in a
MDA. Not a very good display for a X term. Does anyone know
which VGA adaptors will work with a 3c503 card? I am running NetBSD 0.9
