Hi. I have decided to make my move up to BSD the occasion to make my
move up from ISA to EISA.

By lurking in this newsgroup, I get that a BusLogic bt747s comes highly
recommended for BSD, and I can handle that (I now have an Adaptec 1542B),
but I find the prospect of swapping out my motherboard pretty daunting.

So, I am thinking, why not buy a barebones box that already has the
motherboard in it then just migrate the rest of my hardware into it?

Problem is, every time I sit down with my pile of Computer Shoppers and
try to figure out where I can get such a box, I conk out from information
overload!

To the maximum extent possible, I intend to deal with BSD- and
HURD-sympatico hardware vendors; other things being equal, I prefer to do
business in the greater Bay Area.

 Any suggestions?

 Thanks!
 Bill
