What does this |> mean and how do I fix it? Thanks. I suspect you mean 1.2b, not 2.1b. Anyway - check the permissions on any reasonable directories. A couple of them were mode 700 owner root, and (e.g.) the "man" program is suid bin, so it cannot access the shared libs. -Bernard
