There is a more or less working port of postgres-4.01(!) for 386bsd. That should
work with few changes on FreeBSD1.02. You can find that in:
ftp.informatik.uni-erlangen.de /pub/BSD/LOCAL or in
s2k-ftp.cs.berkeley.edu /pub/postgres/unofficial-ports/386bsd

FreeBSD 1.1(BETA) supports semaphores.
I began to port postgres-4.2 when it came out. I compiled the whole stuff
and could already build the initial database.
Problems arise, when I try to connect to the backend via the monitor....
