Followup-To: poster Date: 2 Apr 1994 13:54:32 -0600 Organization: The University of Texas - Austin Lines: 22 Distribution: usa Message-ID: <2nkihoINNdci@emx.cc.utexas.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: emx.cc.utexas.edu I am curious about using one of the new digicom "SoftModem" cards with a BSD system. These require downloading software to the card to control its functionality. Has anyone tried this? Is it successful? Useful? They supply a utility that apparently compiles under Linux to perform the transfer to the card. Under NetBSD 0.8 errors complaining about an undefined function "ioperm" are generated when the code is linked. I am not familiar with that function so I am not sure if there is an equivalent BSD function or not. Presumably it reads/writes some permissions on the serial port. Any tips on 1) experiences with one of the boards, 2) how to replace that function, or 3) alternative drivers for the board are much appreciated. Thanks. -- Brook G.
