Well I got it running on my beloved Amiga running NetBSD (current),
but as NetBSD and BSDI anre not that different there, Give the
following a try:

1. # ifconfig sl0 <local-ip> <remote-ip>
2. Use kermit to dial into your SLIP-Server and start it. After that,
   exit kermit with ^\-q.
3. # slattach -s 9600 /dev/tty00
                 ^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^
                    |          |
                    |          +- Port with Modem attached
                    +------------ Or whatever
4. # route add default <remote-ip> 0
