Remember to disable all [DOS-oriented] extended features of the Adaptec 1542CF. I don't know much about the Ultrastor but last I heard they went Chap. 11 (anyone ?). Personnally, I'd recommend the Buslogic card, either VESA or EISA. They're well made, work splendidely and are also supported.
