None of us have brains. All the posting we do >is merely random chance that it even comes out in coherent sentences. What a surpirse. Why suddenly such attitude ? You guys always have been stiff-necked : "Oh, we use REAL unix", "Linux is a toy", "DOS ? Do you linux guys still need dos ?, ah.... (stiffens the stupid neck) ... We don't need DOS, since we use REAL unix". "You linux guys don't know much about Unix, right ?" ...etc. >If we're so stupid, why bother even wasting your time on us? Go away. So, *bsd user's cross-posting such as "BSD is the real Unix", "Linux is a toy", "Linux users are ignorant of Unix", ....etc. to *linux newsgroup is OK and a linux user's cross-posting the opposite is not OK. Is this your logic ? You go away from linux newsgroup. >You have not posted a thing that adds >value to this group that I have ever read. At least, I have been trying to stick to the Subject. On the other hand, you and including many others are trying to be personal. There is nothing personal here. And I think that the subject is one of most frequently asked question and should be answered appropriately. I have seen the same subject many times so far, but the conclusion of the subject was always : "Linux and *BSD are both good systems, (however, *BSD is a real unix, .... blah blah blah ( which implies that *BSD has more advantage and I have no objection that (the original) BSD is a good system. It has been proved by academic researchers for a long time. I myself had used it on VAX-11. Thousands and thousands students, and researchers had used it. At that time BSD system is quite accessible. Having a unix account in a university means that having a BSD account. However, support for the 386 machine port of BSD is one of the worst. BSD is not easily accessible any more. Since VAX-11 is not used any longer, the only reasonable way to get access to BSD is to install *BSD on PC's by oneself, which pushes the sysadm's job to individual users. I believe that being stiff-necked, like "You must be a unix man. You must know what you are doing. Oh, you don't understand our FAQ ? You must be an idiot, ...etc.", is not quite right. Note that most people want Unix to do something for their own matters not for hacking around the Unix system itself. >You may very well be a worthwhile contributor to the linux newsgroups. >Great! If you can't say >something good, don't say any damn thing at all! Gees. What a junk. Stick to the subject. One idiot (or was it a crook :) ) posted how to use KILL file (this is another funny thing).
