Has anyone had any luck using NetBSD 0.9 with an Ethercard Elite
   Ultra?

I doubt it, since the Ultra is fairly different from the older cards.

If this is a bug in the driver, is it fixed in the -current driver?

It's not a `bug', per se, but -current certainly works on Ultras.
