: for freeBSD. The types of things I need to know are:
: Support for adaptec 1520 scsi controller?

The 1520 is currently unsupported. I've heard that some people
are working on it but have yet to see anything non-vapor. ;)
The 154[0,2][A,B,C,CF] are supported.

: Is 8 megs of ram enough?

8 meg is fine. With 1.1 Beta even 4MB is quite usable.

: Support for NE2000 ethernet cards?

They work fine though SMC 80x3 cards are faster.

: Minimum drive space required?

Depends, for full bins, src, and X plus some of your own ported
software favorites about 200 MB. For just binaries 80-120 MB.
