The bounce-buffer support did not make it into 1.1.  The code was still too
green.  Release 2.0 (I think) will be 4.4lite based and will have all of the
features of our VM system plus 4.4lite.  I think that we are thinking about
kernel update snapshots, but I am not really in the release loop.
 
Sorry if I did not answer the question the way you wanted, but a lot of the
things that we have been doing are fairly aggressive and I think that it is
best to put out a reliable system as opposed to a packaged version of
-current :-).  BTW, I think that we have added the ability to boot on a
> 16MB system given an ISA SCSI bus-mastering adaptor.
