There are also an unknown number of groups (well, I know of at least one, maybe two) who are looking to start a sort of ``BSD Consortium'', to ensure that there remains a One True Version of BIND and whatnot. Especially in the networking community, I think you are seeing parts of some vendors screaming ``Now look what you've done!'' at their operating-system divisions.
