I have never brought it up to date with Julian's second release, and for good reason: I am only sure it works on the 1542B, I know it doesn't work on the 1542C with early firmware and I don't know if it has been fixed. It also kind-of-works on the 1740 with custom firmware from Adaptec. The 1740 interface is completely different from the documented one in the 1740 tech ref manual. Adaptec DOES NOT SUPPORT TARGET MODE ON ANY OF ITS' HOST ADAPTERS. This is a Adaptec's formal position. They do not test it and they will not fix the firmware. They shafted a client who was going to embed the 1740 in a several hundred / year product. The client selected the 1740 on Adaptec's recommendation. They dragged their feet for months and then finally said they will not support or fix the firmware related to target mode. The client instead bought an OEM board from NCR and wrote their own scripts for the NCR scsi chip. They are only now finishing that up, 7 months after Adaptec pulled the plug on their 1740 efforts. I do not know of any PC SCSI board with a supported processor target mode. I've made quite a few calls without luck. If anyone locates such a board let me know. If you want my code I can send it, but again, it is relative to an old release of Julian's drivers. Peter -- Peter Dufault Real Time Machine Control and Simulation HD Associates, Inc.
