hi there,

i've been working in making FreeBSD-1.1-GAMMA a boot server
for freebsd. Netboot code is available at /usr/src/sys/i386/netboot,
which call for a SMC/WD 80x3 for the client. i have a COMPEX network
adaptor which emulate 80x3 well and had set 0x280, 0xd000, irq 5.

i had tried configuring tftpd by removing the comment in
/etc/services for
tftp and add /tftpboot to the end of the line,
adding "bootps" into /etc/services, copied cfg.???.???.???.??? to
/tftpboot, and had made /tftpboot/386bsd.

but when netboot.com was run on the PC with COMPEX adaptor, there
seems no sign of booting. tftpd was not called. boot server was
not called upon.

the PC with COMPEX adaptor work fine with unix running tftp,
files may be gotten from the FreeBSD tftp server.

in case you had tried making FreeBSD as Boot Server, would you
please drop me a line to pointers on configurations?

i would appreciate any help in the subject.

thanks,

clarence chu
