I was quoted US$36.00 for a >lance clone card (ne1500/2100), probably based on the amd 79c960 I know there are other cards out there that use the same chip, but as the latest maintainer of Steve Nuchia's TNIC driver I can tell you that none of the other boards has been tested with it and there are a few off-chip options that could have been done differently. I would of course love to hear that the ne1500 or ne2100 works with "my" TNIC driver. But I havn't tried it myself. When I want a cheap card, I've been buying ne2000 clones, which all work with the standard if_ne.c that ships with BSD/386. If I can use ne2100's at roughly the same price, using the existing TNIC driver, I'd love to know about it. -- Paul Vixie Redwood City, CA decwrl!vixie!paul <paul@vix.com>
