In fact more than just old 1.0 binaries -- up until recently I was
still running old 386bsd-0.1 binaries (which are really just the
same as 1.0), and other people have apparently (I have not seen this)
run static BSDI binaries on FreeBSD. I think statically linked
NetBSD binaries should also still run on FreeBSD 1.1.
