Date: 27 Apr 1994 13:49:57 -0500 Organization: Concordia College, Moorhead Minnesota Lines: 18 Sender: grant@cobber.cord.edu Distribution: na Message-ID: <2pmc4l$56l@cobber.cord.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: cobber.cord.edu Summary: problems with rxvt starting up and reading .profile Keywords: X rxvt bash .profile When I start up rxvt through my .xinitrc(.xsession w/xdm) it doesn't seem to read my .profile to get the environment settings, like the prompt changing, etc. Sort of annoying. Also, bash doesn't want to logout by using ^D. It just gives me the message, "Use "exit" to leave the shell." It does log me out correctly only after I hit ^D about 10 times. I know it used to work right, but for some reason it doesn't now. And I also know that a friend of mine has xdm and bash running correctly, so it doesn't seem to be related to that. Any other ideas? I've been searching through my .fvwmrc and my .profile and the xdm stuff, so any help would be appreciated. --Chris -- Christopher K.
